Known from his releases on META4 and Third Movement, German producer Mortifer depicts a godless universe on this EP for Noisj, with pounding hardcore beats, a strong melodic flavour and some surprises along the way:
The title track proclaims Nietzsche’s nihilistic world view; “A Scene of War” assaults the listener with stumbling beats and pitches. “Driving and Banging” is just that - and a furious dip into crossbreed territory. “The Question”: Are we alone, or are there brethren out there among the stars? And if so, do they like hardcore with a space trance flavor, too? “The Modern Computer” is praised for its universal capabilities, and spawns another atmosphere-driven, hypnotizing track to finish off a release which stands strongly and is bound to rule the floors supreme. One might concede that this is a godless universe, but there are always divine distractions to enlighten our lives!
